The design of a plant for the manufacturing of customized interiors and furniture is the result of an effort to maximize the investor's funding. The solution of the production hall, concise in terms of concept and expression, resulted in a volumetric cube with a floor plan of 33 by 60 m and a single pitch roof. A new storey was included to accommodate offices and support functions along the upper side of the roof and the hubs of the single-storey hall.
A storage room, with four entrance gates from the reinforced-surface yard, was placed on the eastern side of the hall. An interior door connects the storage to a machine shop inside the hall. Both the storage and the workshop are lit and ventilated by means of roof fights. A workshop for manual production is located along the western side of the hall; it enjoys natural light due to fenestrations in the building facade. Two large hubs were positioned alongside the northern and southern sides of the hall to provide access to the second floor.
Inside the building proper, a variety of fairly small modifications were executed in order to extend production into the storage area. A new storage hall of identical capacity can be erected on the provisional reinforced area in a mirror-like fashion.
Cladding and load-bearing masonry structures are from blocks; the structural floor over the workshop for manual production is from pre-stressed reinforced concrete panels Spiroll; the roof structure is from wooden framed girders supported by beams. The roof deck is from wooden rafters, boards, and thermal insulation, (with Sika foil used for the hydroinsulation of the roof). Window frames and entrance gates are from wood.
